Jean-Yves Hoguin is a painter who focuses on the representation of natural landscapes through his paintings. His practice, characterized by the use of oil paint and acrylic, focuses on varied themes such as seas, coastal landscapes, fishing ports, salt marshes and the seabed. Through his works, the artist translates his admiration for the colors and textures of nature, using a free and expressive technique, often with a knife. After studying art at the Rouen School of Decoration, the Paris School of Drawing and the Camille Claudel School of Plastic Art in Saint-Nazaire, he developed a style influenced in particular by his stays in Polynesia from 2009 to 2013. Back in mainland France, in Guérande, he continues to develop his artistic projects.
