Collection: VERDET Christine (major exhibition 2026)
An animal sculptor, Christine Verdet has been developing a body of work for over twenty-five years in which precision of vision is combined with deep sensitivity. Trained in drawing and subsequently enriched by the teachings of several renowned ceramicists and sculptors, she has built a resolutely personal path, guided by an ongoing exploration of clay and its expressive possibilities.
An autodidact at heart, she turns modeling into an intimate dialogue with the material, favoring direct gesture and the accuracy of volumes. Each sculpture reveals the character, strength, or fragility of the animal, far beyond mere naturalistic representation. Textures, poses, and gazes convey an attentive observation of living beings and bear witness to a profound respect for nature.
Her work captivates through the balance it establishes between realism, emotion, and expressive power, offering the viewer a sensitive encounter with the animal world.
