Collection: CANTIN Josiane

The artist discovered sculpture in 2006, during a weekend in a Parisian studio. This "live model" initiation was a real revelation. She enrolled at the Beaux-Arts in Angers and stayed there for 3 years. Then, she "pushed open" the door of a private studio in Angers. The earth, an extraordinary element, remains a real discovery for her.

Observe, model, shape, seize the moment, structure the lines, wait for the goodwill of the clay. All these gestures lead her to let go. The human body and especially the woman remains the common thread of her creations. The curves, the backs, the tensions challenge her. Josiane works the clay little by little. Her sculpture will appear then go in unexpected directions. For her, the clay reinforces two important principles: patience and humility.

Bronzes are made from some of his works by the Le Floch Art Foundry in Blain 44.
