Collection: GILL Christian
For this exhibition, Christian Gill presents for the first time a series of figurative paintings in which the sea occupies an essential place in his pictorial language.
Usually focused on abstraction and the exploration of color energy, he now approaches the seascape with a renewed sensibility. The sea becomes a transitional space between movement, light, and breath, resonating with his intuitive universe.
His pictorial gesture, nourished by the palette knife, brush, and layers of material, lends a vibrant intensity to the scenes. The effects of texture and transparency extend his usual work on material and color, now serving an identifiable subject.
Without abandoning his freedom of interpretation, he offers open seascapes where emotion takes precedence over narration. This foray into figuration enriches his journey by introducing a dialogue between inner abstraction and real landscape.
The sea appears here as a space of energy and light, true to his constant search for movement and vibration.
