Collection: HASKINS Jo

Jo Haskins is a British-born painter and printmaker currently based in the Pays de la Loire region. Her practice draws inspiration from her immersions in the extreme landscapes of Svalbard, in the heart of the Arctic. She captures the sense of freedom and connection felt in the face of the icy immensity and changing light. Through painting and printmaking, she captures the subtle interactions between color, shape, and light on the ice and sea.
Her work explores the raw beauty and fragility of these extreme environments. She seeks to share the experience of total immersion in this infinite and silent space.

Each work is a sensory exploration, an attempt to make the invisible visible.
Jo Haskins is one of the gallery's permanent volunteer artists, investing herself in its life and projects. She also devotes herself to mentoring and supporting other artists, sharing her experience and perspective. Her art becomes a means of dialogue between humanity and the ever-changing natural world.

She aspires to convey the power and serenity of nature in its purest state. Jo Haskins thus offers a poetic and intimate vision of the Arctic, far from conventional representations.
