Collection: ARWEN DPS (Dupuis Virginie)

Arwen DPS gives voice to the animal world through intensely expressive painting, combining precise gestures and symbolic force. In her animal portraits, she captures the essence of life with remarkable acuity: inhabited gazes, vibrant textures, powerful postures. Each of her subjects—horse, primate, elephant—is elevated to the rank of silent icon. Her work is anchored on OSB wood panels, a raw and recycled material, which she integrates into the composition. This texture, both chaotic and structured, creates a strong contrast with the pictorial realism of the animal. The result is a striking tension between nature and matter, instinct and construction, wildness and fragility.

Arwen DPS's approach is part of a keen awareness of contemporary issues: respect for living things, recycling, material sobriety. Her work, recognized by several distinctions (Public Prize and Soroptimist Vichy Prize, Gold Medal of the Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academy
1st Press Prize Galerie Thuillier, Giant Prize of Fine Arts Salon 2025 of the AEAF) has been presented in several contemporary art fairs and exhibitions in France.

A committed, embodied painting, where the animal becomes a mirror — and memory — of our humanity.
