Collection: DAOUDAL Jose
José Daoudal is a landscape painter passionate about light and marine atmospheres. Trained from childhood in the studio of the Concarneau painter Ravallec, he was immersed in the world of outdoor painting, particularly in Pont-Aven, where he discovered the works of landscape artists Savigny and Coulio. This early immersion nourished his artistic sensibility and his desire to express the beauty of Breton landscapes.
His preferred technique, dry pastel, allows him to capture the subtle nuances of light and atmosphere with great precision. He favors painting en plein air, settling into the motif to capture the moment, whether on wild coasts or in interior landscapes. This direct and spontaneous approach reflects his commitment to conveying the emotion experienced when faced with the landscape. His works are appreciated for their sensitivity, technical mastery, and ability to evoke the timeless beauty of Breton landscapes.
At the Grande Expo Internationale 2024, José Daoudal won the City Prize.
